Backyard Farm Engagement Session

The story behind each couple is unique, especially this Backyard Farm Engagement Session. I am always intrigued by what I discover when invited home for a photo session.

This beautiful, funky couple was certainly the high light of my morning at 630am in PA. Most of my couples already know that I love to shoot at dawn (no pun intended) and they oblige this suggestion 95% of the time. Morning mist can be so romantic against a background of golden shoulder high grass. In this case I drove almost 2 hours to arrive in time for a perfectly lit morning.

This morning was personally special. Why? I love stories about family heritage particularly when it will play a role in a couple’s wedding. They will be getting married on this same property. The bride’s family raised race horses for generations till the farm was converted to multiple family homes. With land this vast, one can only imagine all the hidden treasure under this rock or down this wooded pathway. I will always urge my couples to firstly book engagement sessions and secondly, make it personal. For these two, it does not get more personal than this and I thank my lucky star every time I get to peer into the life of people I photograph.
