The Barn at Lochwood with Ally and Harry

Ally & Harry’s wedding was everything I hoped for!  A chic sensibility, rustic quality and movie star couple added up to a jaw dropping gallery of photos.  This was my first time at the Barn at Lochwood and I almost couldn’t contain myself when I saw the gorgeous event space.  The historic barn built in the late 1800’s sits on seven beautiful acres and can accommodate about 150 guests at any given time.  The balcony within the barn is one of my favorite features.  It allowed for a birds eye view of the entire room, something we loved taking photographic advantage of on this occasion.

The threat of rain moved the ceremony indoors but unlike some barn weddings, ample windows allowed for an abundance of natural light.  Its been a pretty rainy wedding season, unlike any I’ve seen but my brides so far have taken it in stride and have not allowed the unpredictable climate to dampen their day.  Ally and Harry were no exception.  At some point after a brief thunder storm, we ventured back outside for some couples portraits.  I love moody, ‘it just rained’ photos as it produces a slightly dramatic feel to photographs.  The dark clouds which had great texture and depth paired with the wet tar road help bring this mood to life.

I do love a barn wedding and am grateful to have been a part of this couples wedding day.  Thank you Ally and Harry for inviting us to help retell the story of this very special day!
