Rock Island Lake Club with Lesley & Keith

The Rock Island Lake Club is probably one of my favorite lake venues in the area.  The owners have created an incredibly laid back, yet upscale mood.  I was initially impressed by the gorgeous eleven acre lake with two islands, natural birch tree archway, and a stone fire pit that sits right off the lake for late night s’mores and fireside conversation.  I love that Lesley and Keiths guests could veer off to enjoy the quite lakeside while catching up with friends and family.

So you won’t be able to tell from the photos but Lesleys parents had the most EPIC Scottish accents.  I mean authentic movie like voices you just don’t get tired of.  Aside from their accents, this was truly a wonderful, warm family.  After doing some research, I found that google says that “Scottish kilts originate back to the 16th century, when they were traditionally worn as full length garments by Gaelic-speaking male Highlanders of northern Scotland.”  The garment is an ancient symbol of patriotism and honor for a true Scotsman.  I also learned that day that true Scotsmen don’t wear any undergarments with the kilt.  I will take their word for it.

It was truly an honor to be apart of this day with this couple at the Rock Island Lake Club.  They were sweet and loved..

Enjoy!  Slideshow here..
