Lake Hopatcong Engagement Session

I love an amazing backyard.  Especially when you can wake up, roll into your boat and glide over a quiet lake!  It was well worth the 6am start time because I am over the moon for these incredible images from this Lake Hopatcong Engagement Session. The couple.  Ugh!  Love these two.  Truly a pleasure and I just can’t wait for their wedding in September..  Is it strange that I love love so much?  Maybe I should get some kind of a hobby..  Wait, my hobby is my job!

Anyways, lake, beach and water shoots can sparkle so I encourage early morning sessions as much as possible.  You have the rest of the day to yourselves and can take advantage to the dawning morning.  No pun intended.

 Why do I like engagement sessions so much and why should you add it to your to do list before your wedding.?  Practice and familiarity.  It gives your photographer a chance to know you as a couple and you a chance to warm up to the photographer.  Pretty important before you special day.  In many cases the engagement session photos are an exciting prelude to the big day.  You’ll love them!  Another option is to do a ‘morning after’ session I was just made aware of.  Now those are more intimate (not that intimate!) and for some couples, preferred over the outdoor display.  Either way, do something fun!  It does not have to be at Lake Hopatcong, but make it special..

Oh and lastly, why not add an editorial stylist to the mix?  They bring cool props like vintage chairs and picnic decor.   I’ll be posting an example this fall, so stay tuned…
