The Skylark – Midtown West, NYC Rooftop Lounge Wedding

The The Skylark – Midtown West rooftop lounge has breathtaking views and is perfect for an intimate but surreal NYC wedding. The lighting could not be more balanced!  Soft, glowing hues shone through every window, revealing a brightly lit city on a beautiful day. There was something extra magical about NYC.  Maybe it was the couple who I connected with and felt instantly like were old friends.  Maybe the bride’s stunning design and dress selection…

I would characterize the groom as strong & protective and his bride, a perfect balance of coy and grace (beauty is obvious).  The twinkling city lights and the soft venue lighting, illuminating ever room in a unique dramatic fashion truly made for a memorable experience.

We had brunch one Sunday in NYC for our consultation and I immediately fell in love with them.  Down to earth, hearts of gold.  Our engagement session in Gantry Park got me even more excited about what I would see on this day as I listen to her talk about each detail.  I could not have imagined..

Something about New York and being high up in a swanky high rise (The Skylark – Midtown West) just makes me fall in love with NYC all over again.  I’m so confused..  One minute I die over earthy, barny, rustic weddings and another I’m head over heals over good ol crisp contemporary imagery.  It reaffirms to me my role when capturing my couples wedding day.  Observe and document what I see & feel.   When I arrive at each wedding, the truth is, the work is done..  I just have to capture it with a perspective that does not distract from the beautiful notes put together the couple themselves.
